Finding Relevance Book Design
One of the projects I was given during the course of my studies at my alma mater, Dawson College, was to design a book that would function as a sort of program guide for the graphic design program. Our project brief was to include all the program information they had provided us with presented and to design a small 45 page booklet. This was intended to be used as a promotional tool for the program, and included teacher bios, examples of students work over the course of the program and other information about the graphic design program at Dawson.
I very much enjoyed working on the project and my attempt to create a visually interesting but still informative and readable book design. Although this is something I might do differently today, I still rather like the playfulness and experimentation with typography and layout that I was afforded the opportunity to employ in undertaking the implementation of this design brief.
